Cell game online: a live arena in your browser
CellGame.io is a cell game you play online with people from around the world. Join a public arena in one click, or warm up against bots first. Everything runs in the browser window above this text.
How online arenas work
When you choose Online, the game finds a public arena with free seats near you. Each arena holds 16 cells: up to 12 real players, with bots filling the rest so the action never stops. The leaderboard in the top right shows the 10 biggest cells, and the radar in the top left warns you about big players nearby. If your connection drops for a moment, your cell waits up to 15 seconds for you to come back.
Simple to learn
- Move: your cell follows the mouse, or drag anywhere on a touch screen.
- Split: press Space to divide and lunge at smaller cells (from 36 mass, up to 16 pieces).
- Feed: hold W to eject mass.
- Boost: hold Shift or the right mouse button for a burst of speed that costs mass.
- Lobby: press Esc to go back at any time.
Hard to master
Good players bait others into splitting near a virus, pin smaller cells against the walls, and know when to give up a little mass to escape. Above 150 mass you slowly shrink, so the top spot has to be defended. Every life that ends in the top 10 pays points, from 10 for tenth place to 100 for first.
Built for the web
The arena is drawn in 3D with WebGPU when your browser supports it, with WebGL2 and a light 2D mode as fallbacks, so it stays smooth on phones, Chromebooks and older laptops. Rather play with people you know? Open the play with friends page, or read about io games unblocked for quick sessions.
